Lake Haus is a magnificent property just outside Estes Park

During our visit to Rocky Mountain National Park we stayed in a lovely house just outside Estes Park - a charming little town on the eastern edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, surrounded by the dramatic peaks of the mountains. The house is about a two-hour drive from Denver Airport and it's just a two minute drive into the Park.

Lake Haus is a stylish and comfortable house situated on The Promontry, a luxury development of lodge-style houses just outside the town centre. Sleeping parties of 6 people, there are three double bedrooms (one ensuite and a separate shared bathroom for the other two) plus another toilet. As a result there were no bathroom conflicts at all!

The Promontry is situated immediately above Marys Lake and is a five-minute stroll from Marys Lake Lodge, which is a convenient place to eat, drink and relax after a hard day's wildlife spotting or fishing. There are two restaurants in the Lodge - one in the bar, where there is often entertainment laid on, and a separate formal dining room where you can relax and enjoy eating without the hustle and bustle of the bar area. The food we had there was excellent.

Estes Park is a lively little town with all the facilities you need for a fun holiday. There are numerous restaurants, and during our stay we also ate in the Twin Owls Steakhouse, regarded as one of the very best. Another good place to eat which has a very relaxed atmosphere and excellent food is the Rock Inn.

Lake Haus is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen has top-of-the-range appliances and there is a separate laundry room. There is also a spacious garage and leading off the lounge, there is a deck with a barbeque and a large table and chairs ideal for cooking, eating and enjoying the stunning views of the Rocky Mountains.
