Prunus laurocerasus - Cherry Laurel
Phylum: Magnoliophyta - Class: Magnoliopsida - Order: Rosales - Family: Rosaceae
Commonly referred to simply as Laurel, this introduced evergreen thrives in similar conditions to that favoured by Rhododendron. It grows mainly as a bush or in hedgerows around parks and gardens, but in suitable conditions it can reach a height of more than 10 metres.
