Gentianaceae Gallery - the Gentian family

The Gentian family comprises some 1600 species, mainly found in the world's temperate zones. The five fused petals, often a striking blue, are characteristics that many people assocoate with these popular wildlowers; however, the Gentian family also includes flowers of many other colours.
